What is a Flying Fox?

Flying Fox is India’s first zip tour – a unique and exhilarating aerial journey between hill forts and ridge tops, during which you fly down a series of ultra-strong cables or zip lines, attached by a harness and pulley. The views down to Neemrana fort and the Aravelli mountains beyond are sensational. Our trained instructors accompany you at every stage to ensure your safety and to entertain you their knowledge of local history, culture and ecology.

Who can do it?

  • Anyone aged 10 and above and
  • Over 1.4m / 4’ 7” high and
  • under 20 stone / 127 kg and
  • With a waist measurement of 110cm / 43 inches or less
  • We’ve had participants from 10 to 72 years old

How safe is it?

  • Our zip tour has been designed and installed by Switzerland’s leading zip tour engineers
  • Our cables have been provided by Switzerland’s leading wire rope manufacturer
  • Our personal protective equipment is made by Petzl of France, one of the world’s leading climbing brands
  • Our zip tour is managed with onsite British expertise amounting to 15 years of high-wire adventure experience
  • Both our construction and operations conform to EN-15567 – Europe’s latest standard for high ropes adventure courses
  • All equipment is subject to daily safety checks before use
  • Before starting the tour, each participant receives a comprehensive verbal and written safety brief plus the opportunity to practise on a short trial zip

How long does it take?

  • 2-2.5 hours per zip tour. This includes approximately 20 minutes to hike up the hill to the beginning of Zip 1 and 20 minutes for the safety briefing. It also includes rest breaks and time to listen to our historical and cultural commentary.
  • We run 7 sessions a day, 6 days a week. Session timings are 0900, 1000, 1100, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600. We’re closed Wednesdays.

How much does it cost?

  • The rack rate for 2009-10 season is Rs 1660 per adult and Rs 1330 per child - check out our Special Offers page for discounts. 

Fort Entrance Ticket

  • Please note that Neemrana Fort Palace charges day visitors (12 yrs +) an entrance fee of Rs 500. If you have purchased a Flying Fox ticket in advance you can enter the fort free of cost by presenting your ticket at the entrance. Otherwise you will be charged the full entrance fee, but you will receive a Rs 400 refund on leaving the Fort if you subsequently decide to buy a Flying Fox ticket and present that ticket at the exit

How do I book a zip tour?

  • Book online at www.flyingfox.asia using your credit or debit card
  • For information on how to book or if you have questions you want answered before making a booking, call us on (+91) 98109 99390
  • For on the day bookings you can pay at our booking office in Neemrana Fort Palace by cash or credit card (Visa / Mastercard and Maestro only – not Amex, unfortunately)

Do I need to book in advance?

  • In order to avoid disappointment and for our best rates we strongly advise that you book in advance. Weekends are extremely busy and fill up fast.

Can I book for someone else?

  • Yes, you can make a booking for another individual or for a group. You can also purchase a gift voucher (denominations in Rs. 500 vouchers) which we’d be happy to mail to a recipient of your choice.

What's the maximum number of participants I can book for?

  • Each Flying Fox session has 10 spaces and there are 7 sessions per day. We’re happy for you to book for more than 10, but your group will split up accordingly in order to participate.

Can I bring my children?

  • Children (10-15 years) are very welcome but will need adult supervision for their own safety
  • One adult can supervise up to two 10-15 year olds
  • Students aged 16-21 years can zip unaccompanied

I have a child who is too young to fly the fox, is there someone who can look after him/ her while I go?

  • With a few days advance notice we’d be happy to provide a child supervisor, at no extra charge
  • We have a secure room with toys, games and a television set where your child(ren) can wait safely while you enjoy the zip tour

Is there service tax on top of the ticket price?

  • All our published ticket prices are inclusive of 10.36% government service tax. Your purchase receipt will show the breakdown of ticket price and added tax.

Can I watch my friends and family zip?

  • For the safety of participants and spectators, spectators are not permitted on the hillside behind Neemrana on which the Flying Fox activities take place. We suggest that you watch your friends and family zip from the comfortable surroundings of Neemrana Fort Palace’s terraces and restaurants.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my booking?

  • We are happy to refund all advance purchase bookings if we receive your cancellation request at least 24 hours before the start of your tour.
  • To cancel your booking and receive a full refund, please call our booking lines or send an email to tickets@flyingfox.asia. The refund will be made in the same method as the payment
  • You will receive a cancellation reference number which you must retain.

Can I cancel on the same day?

  • If you arrive late for your session or cancel less than 24 hours before your tour we will regrettably have to charge you the full ticket price as your session could have been utilized by another customer.
  • We’ll try to accommodate your on a different session if there’s space available, but we cannot guarantee you a space.

What happens if my tour is cancelled because of bad weather?

  • On rare occasions extreme weather such as strong winds, heavy rain or electrical storms will mean that Flying Fox has to postpone a tour.
  • If your tour is cancelled we’ll do our best to book you onto an alternative tour on same the date of your choice.
  • If we cannot accommodate your wishes that day, we shall provide you with a gift voucher so you can book yourself into a tour on a more convenient date.

What if I have a medical condition? Can I drink alcohol before zipping?

  • Our zip tour is fairly physically demanding and requires a degree of agility, strength and stamina. If participants have medical concerns they are advised to consult their doctor in advance. Participants will be required to certify that they do not suffer from any medical condition which could result in injury to themselves or others. Due to the physical nature of the zip tour, Flying Fox recommends that pregnant women should not take part
  • We have a strict no drinking and no drugs policy - for your own safety and that of others. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any customer who we consider to be under the effect of alcohol or drugs. You will not qualify for any refund of your ticket price if you are refused entry for this reason. 

What clothes should I wear?

  • Strong shoes, trainers or boots – no open-toe sandals, slip-on shoes or high heels please!
  • Trousers or shorts – not skirts or saris
  • Avoid short shirts or tops – waists must be covered for the harness to fit comfortably
  • Dress for the weather, in clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty or damaged
  • Bring a sun hat, which you can clip onto your harness while zipping, and hair-bands to tie back any long hair

Do you serve refreshments?

  • Flying Fox will provide you with complimentary drinking water
  • All other food and beverage should be purchased at Neemrana Fort-Palace before or after your tour.

Do I have to speak English?

  • Our instructors also speak Hindi, Nepali, French & English

Can I bring my phone and camera?

  • Mobile phones must be switched off at all times, as they can be a distraction during your safety brief and flight time. You can leave phones in the office or in a zip pocket. You may bring small cameras, for which we can provide you a safety line.
